GTC - Get That Cardio BABY!
All fall we've been focused on cardio and core remembering that as we get older, these two aspects of our fitness will become more and more important.
I've been getting consistent cardio for the past 4 months and oh what a difference its made!
Lots of people can't stand cardio, don't want to do it, don't want to even think about it.
I. Don't. Care.
Seriously, I don't care if you hate it, you need do whatever you can to get weekly cardiovascular exercise.
Most experts will tell you to get 30+ minutes of cardiovascular exercise AT LEAST 3-4 times per week.
And I understand, maybe you're not a runner, but cardiovascular does not = running. There are a number of options for you including:
- Jumping Jacks / Mountain Climbers / Burpees (sets of 10 or our old favorite 10 to 1)
- Biking (even to and from work)
- Flow Yoga
- Power Walking / Jumping Rope / Swimming
- And one of my all-time favorites: Stair Climbs!
I understand it's hard. I know it's challenging but this is your health we're talking about and health is wealth.
And as the wise philosopher Mike Tyson once said, "Success is doing the things you hate like you love them."
